E Minor Chord for Guitar

Let’s get going! Pick up your guitar and let’s practice E Minor:

As mentioned before, G Major and D Major are both “happy” sounding chords. However, your guitar is capable of expressing all sorts of emotions. Let’s now shift our attention to the E Minor chord. Minor chords have a “sad” sound to them and E Minor is one of the core chords you absolutely need to know. For every “happy” Major Chord, there is a corresponding “sad” Minor Chord. We’ll cover that later, but with just one additional finger added to this E Minor chord, you can easily move from E Minor to E Major.
